WANG Yike ( PEMBROKE COLLEGE 2025 - 2026)
From the recovery of lost cultural relics and international trade control to cross-border environmental disputes and overseas investment protection, I have been fully exposed to the intricacy and diversity of international disputes in different scenarios. These experiences have taught me that international law is more than just a set of rules; it is a “common language” transcending political and cultural differences. With this belief, I am eager to refine my “language skills” so as to minimize conflicts and disputes among different countries and regions, contributing to the perfection of the international legal order.
Receiving the David and Jayne Paterson Scholarship is both an honour and an encouragement, providing invaluable support as I take this next step. It gives me confidence to further explore how international law can help address today’s complex global challenges. I am sincerely grateful to the Trust for this generous support, which strengthens my commitment to pursuing my academic and professional goals with dedication and purpose.
